Arkansas Children's Hospital Injury Prevention Center

Motor Vehicle SafetyMotor Vehicle Safety - Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death in Arkansas for children and youth ages 1 - 19. (1999-2005, CDC) Many of these deaths and injuries can be prevented.  The Injury Prevention Center at Arkansas Children’s Hospital offers programs to educate parents on the importance of motor vehicle safety.  Please select an age group or category below to learn more about motor vehicle safety for children and teens.

Recreational SafetyRecreational Safety - The IPC is dedicated to educating the public on injury prevention practices surrounding recreational safety.  The number of Arkansans injured in all terrain vehicle (ATV) crashes is on the rise.  With children being encouraged to get outside and increase physical activity, the awareness of pedestrian and bike safety has to also increase. Please select the links below to find out more about these exciting programs.

Home SafetyHome Safety - Many injuries can occur in the home. You can childproof your home by taking a “baby’s eye view.”  Crawl from room to room to see if you can spot certain hazards. Remember every home is different and you should never leave your baby or young child unattended.
