Special Services For Your Child

Nurses

The ACH Nursing Division provides individualized family-centered services to infants, children, adolescents and special adult populations with a wide variety of health care needs. These nursing services include direct care, education of patients and families or other caretakers, creating a nurturing and supportive environment, coordinating discharge planning and collaboration and coordination with the Medical Staff and other disciplines to provide high-quality, cost-effective care. Each patient care area is under 24 hour direction of a Nursing Manager responsible to the Senior Vice President, Patient Care Services, through the Vice Presidents of Patient Care Services. Shift coordinators ("charge nurses") or clinic team leaders are responsible for the delivery of quality patient care on their assigned unit and shift. A nursing supervisor is also available to help with overall problem-solving on evening, night and weekend shifts. Patient care is delivered by a staff of registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs). Select functions of patient care and/or supporting unit functions may also be delegated to assistive personnel.
