What is RSS?

Most readers pop-up a small balloon next to your system clock when a new article is published, and they allow you to read the article right in the reader, without going out to the publisher's Web site.

How can I benefit from RSS ?
RSS feeds save time, allowing you to recieve notification only when new content is available. You choose the information you wish to subscribe to, and you can unsubscribe from any feed at any point. An RSS reader allows you to subscribe to particular types of news feeds, so that you receive alerts when new articles are available. Most readers pop-up a new window when a new article is published and allow you to read the article right in the reader, without going out to the publisher's Web site.

How do I subscribe to RSS feeds ?
First you need to download and install an RSS feed reader there are a number of RSS readers available for free. A short list is available at http://www.rss-specifications.com/rss-software.htm

Once you have installed an RSS reader you simply click the RSS icon on a Web site or a link to the RSS feed and paste it into your RSS reader. Some readers will auto detect the presence of an RSS feed on a Web site and give you an option to subscribe.
