NEW! Knitting for Noggins Donation Map

"Yesterday my daughter visited Children's again after a check up at the doctor indicated that she needed some further testing. As we entered the front door, I made my way to admissions and her grandma was taking her to the bridge - one of her favorite places. I was getting her registered when I heard my 2 year old running toward me yelling and laughing. I turned around to see her wearing a beautiful yellow knitted cap, beaming from ear to ear, and full of life. As we made our way through the hospital, she wore her hat proudly. She even showed it to everyone we saw after we left the hospital. I think that hat has replaced the one she got for Christmas. Who cares if gloves don't match!

"I never dreamed that we would need Children's Hospital.  Over the last year we have made several trips to Children's, but it never gets easier. Thanks for making a difficult day a little brighter."

Sincerely,
Angela
Jonesboro, Ark.

How can YOU make a difference in the lives of our patients? Knitting for Noggins is one of the many ways you can help make the lives our patients and families brighter. Here are some helpful hints to remember while you are knitting or crocheting:

IMPORTANT: A few things to know about knitting or crocheting hats for ACH:

  • We ask that hats be approximately the size of an average cantaloupe or larger. Remember we need hats for ALL ages, including teens and adults (don't forget the parents!).
  • Due to infection control, all needlework items must be made out of new materials (not recycled items). Handmade hats are preferred, and we ask that no logos be on the hats.
  • We also ask that items be free of any odor or pet hair
  • For privacy reasons, please do not attach your name or personal information to individual needlework donations.
  • Use your creativity, but bright and colorful hats are always great! And don't forget that we can use boy colors as well as girl colors.
  • Please mail or deliver your hats to Arkansas Children's Hospital or deliver your hats to any of the knitting stores listed below.
